Sewage Contaminating Our Water

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

For anyone who lives near Moccasin Bend, it's no secret that there is raw sewage and feces being pumped into our water and the Tennessee River. Ask any fisherman or boater who is on the water before they stop pumping of a morning and they will tell you stories such as this. I've seen it myself personally and have witnessed the brown and yellow concoction that is being blasted into the water. It's no wonder why nobody fishes those waters and it explains why the stench is so bad around Chattanooga. Also, water evaporates and rains in Chattanooga and over the Tennessee Valley contaminating our drinking water and God knows what else.

There are pipes that run from the Waste Water Treatment Plant to the Tennessee River and even others that aren't visible that run under water and pump continuously. Chattanooga needs to pay a third party to come in and audit their operations and find a solution to this. Yes, this would present fines and restrictions to our city but personally, I'd prefer a tax increase versus getting cancer from eating local fish or an animal that's been exposed to this contamination.

Big money has kept this problem swept under the rug for many years but something needs to be done. There's a reason why they stop pumping at daylight when they know boaters and city goers will be kayaking along the water ways of the Bend. Please share this so hopefully we can put a stop to it once and for all.

The 72-year struggle for women to become enfranchised became a reality with Tennessee’s action which enshrined ... (click for more)

Dialysis Patients Need Insurance Options
