Hixson Burglary Suspect Tries To Swim Away; Deputies Catch Him In Borrowed Boat

A Hixson burglary suspect on Wednesday tried to swim away from deputies, but to no avail.
 
The proprietor of Chattanooga Fish and Fun was notified when his camera system was triggered by an individual attempting to break into his business. The owner immediately contacted the Sheriff's Office and drove to the business location.
 
As deputies arrived on scene, the suspect fled on a motorcycle on Gold Point Circle and headed towards Chester Frost Park.
 

Deputies pursued the suspect until he wrecked his motorcycle near one of the boat ramps in the park. At that point, the suspect then proceeded to the water where he attempted to swim away from deputies to avoid capture. With the aid of a boat owned by an onlooker, deputies were able to retrieve the suspect from the water and take him safely into custody. 

The name is the suspect is Stephen Henshaw. 

Henshaw is facing numerous charges including Evading Arrest and Vandalism.

Police Blotter: Mapco Clerks Catch 1 Fake $100 Bill, Miss Another; Man Booted After Girlfriend Finds Him Asking Other Women For Nude Photos

A clerk at the Mapco on Hamill Road said a man had handed him what he thought was a hundred dollar bill and he almost gave him the change in return. The clerk said he never gave the man the money, but when he confronted the suspect he left the area. The "100 dollar bill" clearly had printed on it front and back it was for motion picture use only. Covenant Softball Wins Two In Home Opener

The Covenant softball team finally played its home opener and outlasted both the weather and visiting Judson to earn a doubleheader sweep on Thursday afternoon.
