Girls Inc. Of Chattanooga To Announce 2018 UnBought And UnBossed Honorees

Girls Inc of Chattanooga will present the 2018 UnBought and UnBossed honorees at a reception held in their honor.

The honorees will be announced on Thursday at the Edney Innovation Center.

Named for the phrase coined by Congress member Shirley Chisholm, the awards honor Hamilton County women, who through their career and/or community service, have improved the lives of girls and women.

As in past years, girls participating in the Girls Inc.Women's History Project select honorees from nominations submitted by community members.

This is the 14th anniversary of UnBought and UnBossed, and honorees will be recognized at a luncheon to be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Dallas Bay Baptist Church School Evacuated By Bomb Threat Tuesday Afternoon

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to a bomb threat at Dallas Bay Baptist Church School on Tuesday.  As a precaution, all staff and children were evacuated from the building. Federal Appeals Court Rules In Favor Of Family With Down Syndrome Child Who Sued County Schools

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of a couple with a Down syndrome child who sued the county schools.
