One Accord Community Church To Hold Jim Ricketts Memorial/AWANA Fundraiser On Saturday

Sunday, March 19, 2017

One Accord Community Church will hold a Jim Ricketts Memorial/AWANA fund raiser on Saturday, starting at 5 p.m. This event is to honor the memory of legendary Jim Ricketts who went to be with our Lord on Jan. 5.

Mr. Ricketts loved to sing for AWANA to help raise money for the church so that kids could earn a week at Bible camp just down the road from his home.

The parents of the AWANA kids are never asked for money. Although 14 singers have signed up to sing, there will be time set aside for those who want to tell how Mr. Ricketts touched their lives.

Most people don't know, but Jim and Crystle Elam met at One Accord Community Church at an AWANA fund raiser. The result of that meeting was an award-winning singing couple whose music touched the lives of thousands of people.

One Accord Community Church is at 343 Sweetland Drive in Red Bank.

Everybody is welcome to attend.

The best story of the summer – by far – came out of Panama City over the Fourth of July weekend when over 80 total strangers on a Panama City beach responded to screams. Two boys, ages 14 and 11, were caught in a rip tide and all of these “angels” quickly formed a human chain -- over 80 people with their arms locked -- to stretch out in the water, reach those kids and tug them out ...
