Hear My Voice Loud And Clear

Friday, May 12, 2017

Dear Senator Corker, et al.:

My heart is breaking.  My country and everything it is founded upon are being assailed to destruction.  My years are passing and I do not want to spend my final days on this blessed land my forefathers first touched foot upon in the year 1610 now suddenly under the strong arm of a power-hungry deceiver, liar, and dictator and his henchmen.

One wonders what Mike Flynn would now tell Congress under oath if they gained enough courage to accept his offer.

As for "priming the pump," bless my Dad for putting his hand over mine on that red cast iron handle to help me lift it to bring the water out of the ground to fill my pail.  That is when I began to learn that the economy of this country comes from the power of the people.

As for the VP, he has always been a wet sponge to me from his days in Congress, always relying on his reputation as an agreeable, religious, dedicated family man.  Sometimes we must have seen it for years before we believe the results.

For those who have raised little boys, look at Trump's face in his discussion of the "three times" with Lester Holt in the interview yesterday.  When those little darlings begin to learn the benefits of a lie to cover their deeds by running to mom before she finds him out, they invariably cannot look her directly in the face without blinking and glancing to either side.  Bingo!

To me, one of the most eqregious failures of this presidency has been the assumption of power of the Legislative Branch in addition to all facets of the Executive Branch and possibly some of that of the Judicial Branch.  But "what difference does it make," as Hillary Clinton said about Benghazi.  So we can now see how Trump's intelligence of Lincolnesque and Jacksonian quotes as well as others of our greatest men and women can boost his appearance on the world stage.  Only a fool would dare to disdain the wisdom of an educated American.

And who could be more educated and able to prove it by those who have become Americans from all circumstances of life.  Thank you to Eugene Robinson and Elijah Cummings putting out there the kind of Americanism all of us should be proud to exhibit in an all-out effort to save our democracy.

Wake up, Congress.  You may well be out of existence if you do not claim your rightful place, authority, and responsibility of being the voice of the people if you do not establish yourself as "capable of doing your job."  Our director of the FBI was fired for that various reason among others, depending upon who is speaking, the time of day chosen by the White House, and the availability of media resources.

I would like to have now-ex-Director Comey back on the job immediately before the ink on the presidential firing letter dries.

Please help us become a free country again.
Respectfully,
Charlotte Parton
