How To Fix Northpoint Boulevard And Problems On Hamill - And (2)

Red line indicates private road.

A solution to getting this road fixed would be to boycott these businesses on this road.

I bet it would get paved real quick then.

They just keep adding more development on Cassandra Smith and surrounding areas off Hamill Road but do nothing about the traffic nightmare.  A well known developer said not long ago, do the development then do infrastructure.  That is what is what is wrong with most of this area, they don't make the roads to handle the extra traffic on them.

Getting on Hamill from Crescent Club is a nightmare most of the time from Crescent Club Drive.  They need a traffic light and need to do something about R R crossing traffic; sometimes is from 153 to past Gann Store Road.

I would like to know why a new building permit was issued for the Goodyear Tire building without there being some sort of requirement that the road be re-paved.

It is a new Firestone that will be replacing the one at Northgate, and it is also facing a public road.  If you drive this section of Northpoint Boulevard you will see that the End Public Street signs mark the area between Old Hixson Pike and, coming from Hixson Pike, the first Home Depot entrance.

I’m not really sure what you can do to force the property owners to pave this “convenient short-cut” other than not frequenting the businesses located there.  I suppose if your car gets damaged you could sue them.  Maybe take them to small claims court.

While it’s not as bad, I don’t see what is keeping the city of Chattanooga from paving the public section.
