Texas A&M Knocks Lady Vols From Unbeaten Ranks

Danni Williams hit six straight free throws near the end of overtime to send the Tennessee Lady Vols from the unbeaten ranks on Thursday night at College Station, Tex.

#6 UT had started the season 15-0, but faced four straight Top 20 teams.

The #17 Aggies won 79-76 after Tennessee started off the OT period with for straight free throws for a 74-70 advantage.

Both teams went cold near the end of the contest and wound up tied 70-70 in regulation.

Tennessee had a chance for a late shot in OT for a tie, but threw it out of bounds.

Mercedes Russell recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Vols (15-1, 3-1 SEC). The loss marks the first time Tennessee has dropped a game since being eliminated from last year's NCAA tournament on March 20.
 
Khaalia Hillsman led the Aggies (14-4, 3-1 SEC) with 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor and added 11 boards. Williams chipped in 22 of her own while going 3-for-7 from 3-point range. Texas A&M has now won its past two match-ups with the Lady Vols and the last two meetings in College Station, both in overtime.
 
Jaime Nared added 18 points for the Lady Vols, including four 3-pointers. Rennia Davis and Cheridene Green netted 12 each, and Evina Westbrookput up nine points while dishing out seven assists.

Juvenile Girl Shot On Doolittle Street Early Sunday Morning

A juvenile girl was shot early Sunday morning on Doolittle Street. A Jury For 2nd Time Convicts Randall Reed Of Murdering 70-Year-Old Woman In 2011

A jury for the second time has convicted Randall Reed of first-degree murder in the 2011 death of 70-year-old Jane Stokes in East Ridge.
