CRMA Manufacturers To Hold Excellence Awards Luncheon

The Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association will host its annual Manufacturers Excellence Awards Luncheon on Wednesday this week at the Chattanooga Convention Center, Exhibit Hall C.  The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

The event serves to recognize members of the organization who exemplify practices resulting in manufacturing excellence. The Manufacturers Excellence Awards are presented in the categories of Energy/Environment, Safety, Company of the Year (less than 100 employees) and Company of the Year, and serve to distinguish entire organizations for their overall achievements and positive impacts. The Association will also present the “InSpires” award, which was created last year in memory of Tim Spires, former president/CEO of the Association, who passed away unexpectedly last February. 

Jeff Cornett, manager, Industrial & Economic Development for Oak Ridge National Laboratory, will deliver the keynote address.

Dallas Bay Baptist Church School Evacuated By Bomb Threat Tuesday Afternoon

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office personnel are currently responding to a bomb threat at Dallas Bay Baptist Church School.  As a precaution, all staff and children have been evacuated from the building and are safe. Federal Appeals Court Rules In Favor Of Family With Down Syndrome Child Who Sued County Schools

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of a couple with a Down syndrome child who sued the county schools.
